Dear Friends and Family,

I did it!!!   It’s been three days since the Long Beach Marathon and today is the first day I am not limping.  During the race I learned from a fellow runner that the history of the Marathon involves a soldier running from the city of Marathon to Athens to announce a victory –- after the 26 miles he fell down and died.  That is about how I felt on Sunday at mile 24, and from there I literally prayed my way to the end.  What a rush to reach the finish line after enduring the physically hardest moments of my life.  It was awesome!!!

Thank you so much for your support!  Thanks to your donations I was able to raise  $4,250  for Leukemia Research.  It was encouraging to me personally to receive those envelopes day after day and know that you are all praying for Owen and willing to reach out in any way to show you care.  Owen continues to persevere, but we believe he too has already made it through his hardest moments.  It was a thrill for me to accomplish a life-long goal, but to do it for my son brought deep joy to the whole experience.  I don’t think I stopped smiling once through that whole event.

On behalf of our family, I thank you again for your contribution.  You can continue to check on Owen’s progress at www.springdalecountry.com.  This has been an incredible experience for all of us.  We serve a powerful and loving God!

All Glory to Him,

Mindy
